Activities
The Cortijo del Pino is located in a rural setting 3 km from the city, offering the possibility of activities in Granada.
This location allows, in addition to its access by car, its access by bicycle, as there is a safe and easy bike path to reach Granada in about 15 minutes (we have six bicycles to lend).
In addition to the capital, the province of Granada offers numerous natural and cultural attractions, such as the Sierra Nevada National Park, the Alpujarra, the Altiplano Geopark and the Costa Tropical.
Cortijo del Pino, in addition to lodging, is our family residence. We are very attentive to the well-being of our guests and offer them every facility to enjoy their stay.
– Activities in Granada –
The Alhambra and the Albaycín
The Alhambra is a monumental complex located on the Sabika hill, one of the highest points of the city. Originally a fortress, it became the residence of the Nasrid emirs and, after the Christian conquest, it housed the kings of Castile.
Its artistic value stands out in the decorations of the Nasrid Palaces, considered the pinnacle of Andalusian art. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO along with the Generalife and the Albayzin district, the Alhambra is accessible by car in about 20 minutes from Cortijo del Pino.
It is advisable to purchase tickets in advance: https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es
The Albayzin, located opposite the Alhambra, is a medieval neighborhood that preserves its Hispano-Muslim architecture. It can be reached from Plaza Nueva by walking through the Calderería, a Moorish souk with stores and tea shops, or by using the C32 bus, which runs through the neighborhood.
To visit Sacromonte, famous for its caves and flamenco tradition, you can walk along the Carrera del Darro and the Cuesta del Chapiz or take the C34 bus. This neighborhood offers a unique experience of Granada’s history and culture.
Flamenco
In Granada you can enjoy flamenco in many places every day of the year, such as in the caves of Sacromonte, which enjoy unique enclaves at the foot of the Alhambra and where the spectator can live it together with the artists as part of the show.
In addition, some restaurants organize flamenco shows with dinner or drinks.
Science Park
The Science Park of Granada is one of the best in Europe.
In it you can visit the planetarium, the tropical butterfly garden, the workshop of birds of prey in flight, the Al-Andalus pavilion, as well as its temporary exhibitions.

Sierra Nevada (National Park)
The Sierra Nevada National Park is the most important center of plant diversity in the Mediterranean region. Its steep slopes are home to a wide variety of climates and ecosystems as well as varied geological landscapes.
Two medium mountain trails, of low difficulty, and a half hour drive from the cortijo are:
La Vereda de la Estrella, which is located in the municipality of Güéjar Sierra, along the Genil River. A route to discover the north face of the Mulhacén, the Alcazaba and the Veleta.
And the Los Cahorros trail in the municipality of Monachil, which runs through the valley of the Monachil River, a trail that surprises with its waterfalls, caves and suspension bridges.
The Alpujarra of Granada
The Alpujarra, south of the Sierra Nevada, stands out for its Arab legacy reflected in terraced crops, irrigation channels and villages such as Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira, in the Poqueira valley, just over an hour from Granada. Its landscape combines history and nature in one of the most important cultural legacies of the Peninsula.
The geopark of Granada, in the Guadix-Baza basin, is a unique environment with a network of viewpoints, museums and Heritage Interpretation Centers: https://www.geoparquedegranada.com
Places like Guadix, Gorafe and Alquife, one hour from Granada, also showcase the rich natural and cultural heritage.
The Tropical Coast
The Costa Tropical is located in the south of the province of Granada, 50 km from the capital. It stands out for its microclimate for the production of subtropical fruits (mangos, custard apples, avocados…).
It also stands out for its beaches and cliffs. The closest beaches to the city are those of Salobreña and Playa Granada. In the natural area of Maro-Cerro Gordo, between cliffs, is the natural beach of Cantarriján.
