Common Areas
The common areas of Cortijo del Pino combine history, nature and tradition.
In the main body of the Cortijo, the central courtyard of stone columns as reception and access to our point of sale of organic and local products.
The agricultural character of Cortijo del Pino is present throughout the building, but also its recreational character as a recreational estate. The lushness of the trees and gardens surround the entire building in a rural setting of fruit trees and cultivated fields.
Courtyard
The central courtyard of columns has its origin in the ancient Roman house, but it will be in the period of Al-Andalus when it will obtain its maximum splendor.
The courtyard will then become a place of rest, intimate and fresh; an interior architectural space where ferns, lemon trees and gallant trees coexist, which flood the warm summer nights with their aroma.
Garden and Swimming Pool
In the garden and surrounding the swimming pool: flowers, scents, food plants, fruit trees and shrubs; also a shaded area of myrtles and laurels*, palms and linden trees.
*Entre Mirtos y laures: Book by Francisco de Vélez published by Familia publishing house in 1943, it narrates the stay of its characters in Cortijo del Pino and refers to its garden.
Frutales and Vergel
For more than five centuries, travelers who visited Granada on numerous occasions left travelogues in which they detailed stories and experiences that today provide us with much information about the landscape of the orchards in Al-Andalus.
The orchards in the Vega of Granada were always perceived as a productive, wooded, fresh and green space, something similar to an orchard. Vines, pomegranate and fig trees, as well as orange, plum and lime trees, are some of the species most mentioned in those stories and today present in Cortijo del Pino.
Shop
Oils, wines, honey, cheeses, dried fruits, jams and homemade preserves from small organic farmers and ranchers in the region.
You will also be able to taste fruits from our farm in spring and summer.
Glorieta and Aljibe
The Glorieta, between lemon trees and laurels, balances the natural elements and the built spaces in the garden; and the cistern, with the basin and the fountain, provide the sound and the freshness of the falling water…
